Spring 2025: a season of bloom and buzz
This year, our bees emerged from winter ready for action — and nature delivered. After a mild start to the year, May brought a wave of blossoms, and the bees at Lower Woods wasted no time. Nestled in one of Gloucestershire’s wildest corners, our hives are surrounded by ancient woodland, damp meadows, and wildlife-rich commons that burst into bloom as spring matured.
Hawthorn exploded across Inglestone Common like confetti, while towering sycamores and candle-like horse chestnuts lit up the canopy. Thanks to the warm, settled weather and the naturally lush, undisturbed landscape, the bees also found dandelions and blackthorn still going strong.
The result? A beautifully light and floral honey with a mellow, late-spring character — a true taste of this abundant and unspoiled corner of the coutryside.
